World Series of PokerThe world series of poker (WSOP) is an annual event held in Las Vegas. It is the largest event of its kind in the entire world. Needless to say, this event in its 38th year still packs a lot of excitement.

Here’s a few interesting facts about the tournament:

1. It has a age requirement. You must be at least 21 to enter the tournament.
2. Location of this years(2008) World Series: Las Vegas
3. The 1st annual World Series took place in 1970 at Binion’s Horseshoe.
4. Annette Obrestad was the first woman to win a Main Event bracelet
5. Chris Moneymaker was the first online qualifier to win the Main Event back in 2003.
6. Last years winner Jerry Yang won over $8 million bucks.
