blackjack 21Many new comers in the gambling field will ask this question - How to play blackjack. BlackJack is one of the most popular card games played in casinos and it require skills for playing - in contrast to other games like poker, bingo etc.. where they depend more on luck. Blackjack has low house advantage if played in a proper manner.

This is a very old game,we can trace it back upto 1700 where popular Kings used to play them. The one with a blackjack (spaces or club) in the hand wins the game - and thats how BlackJack name originated. Previously there used to be high payouts (of upto 10 to 1) but because of increasing popularity, it has been decreased to around 3 to 2.

The aim of the game is to get a total of 21 in the hand ( a ace and a jack) or as near to 21 as possible to beat the dealers hand. There are many variants of the game and rules differ from place to place, but the basic rules remain same. The game is started by placing a bet on the table upto the limit. Then a dealer deals 2 cards for you and 2 for himself with one facing up. If you have a blackjack, you are the winner, but if the hand is less than 21, then there are various options - hit or stand, split, double, surrender, take insurance etc. The dealer reveals his cards after you reach 21 or bust or stand. He may take additional cards as per rules. Once the dealers hand is completed, game is over and winning hands gets prize.

Thus, in short, the sequence of game is

  • placing bet
  • dealing 2 cards each, dealers one card face up
  • Blackjack wins or either hit, double or stands if <21
  • player either stands, reaches 21 or busts.
  • Dealer reveals his cards, may deal more cards
  • The game ends in winning, bust or push.

This is just a basic, you will require to learn lot of skills to master this blackjack game. You should play casino games online repeatedly and with different players to become a PRO. :)
